In my seminar today, we did a case study which I usually dread doing but I found this so interesting. Linking to our new module, we had to do a Q&A on an anonymous fragrance - questions were asking us about our impressions of the look/scent/packaging of the fragrance.

The fragrance we analysed and reviewed by Comme des Garcons |
The reason why I found it interesting is because as you can see from my notes - as a group, our impressions of the fragrance was completely opposite. It just goes to show that maybe we just don't have any idea about brands and their identity or that brands such as Comme des Garcons are so far from the norm, we just wouldn't associate such normality and simplicity with that brand. Nobody in my seminar group got near to what the fragrance is all about. When we found out in the end it was Comme des Garcons, it is fair to say we were all shocked and found it quite funny how off we were with our views and opinions of this fragrance.
There's so much to look into for a fragrance brand but this thought just makes me more excited for the module ahead and also after meeting a new lecturer having so much experience in both the fashion and music industry - I think this next module is going to be fun and the fact it's quite a broad objective (create a fragrance brand), it gives us a chance to be creative and have a little fun with it!
Bring on module 2!
