Making a scent
After meeting Karen Gilbert, a perfumery specialist. We were lucky to have a seminar session on actually making our fragrance. It was interesting to find out how the different notes work etc.
After testing all the different notes, we agreed with a combination of notes and created a fragrance. As we were only creating one scent and our fragrance is a 2 in 1, we based this scent on the men's side as our other fragrance will be based around the men's version therefore not labeling the scents male or female.
Heart notes
- Naturelle homme (fresh mens) - 40 drops
- Herbal (aromatic herbaceous) - 40 drops
- Woody (dry woody cedar) - 40 drops
Accessory notes
- Citrus (fresh zesty citrus) - 10 drops
- Green (green grassy) - 15 drops
- Tobacco (aromatic) - 20 drops
Fixative notes
- Musk (animalic musk) - 30 drops
- Mossy (green earthy) - 30 drops
Harmoniser notes
- ISO E Super (woody) - 30 drops
- Bergamont (citrus) - 20 drops
All of these created a scent which wasn't too masculine or feminine, and surprisingly tobacco were one of my favourite notes. It was surprising that we came together as a group and found a scent we all liked. Even with our different taste, we managed to created a (mens) scent which suits our brand well.
